What first drew me to this ink was actually the appearance of the ink bottle. I just found it to be very unique and interesting, I haven’t taken a picture deliberately as I want it to be a surprise for you.
The actual ink itself is pretty good for the most part. I would put this in the category of its a grower. When I first started using it, I did find it way to light for my taste. For me it almost border-lined a washed out look, it has no real dept to the colour. It is only when you start to shade with the Visconti Burgundy does it really start to look like a burgundy ink. Using it for everyday writing it comes across more like a pale red.
Over the last few weeks I have forced myself to use this as my note taking ink and it has grown on me a tad bit more. Can it really be a good ink though if you have to force yourself to use it? There are parts of the ink that I do like, it drys fast and shades nicely but then I keep going back to the fact that it looks really washed out while writing.
I don’t dislike this ink but I don’t love it either. I want to throw this out to you the readers, tell me your favourite burgundy ink!
